Japan vs Nepal Today Match Preview
Nepal have the early advantage in Group A after producing a strong performance against Afghanistan. Their five-wicket victory gave the team valuable momentum heading into this decisive fixture.
Japan, on the other hand, need a significantly improved performance after their opening defeat. Afghanistan posted 129/6 before restricting Japan to 81, resulting in a 48-run victory.
Consequently, Japan will need their batting unit to show greater consistency. Their bowlers must also prevent Nepal from building partnerships during the middle overs.
Nepal’s Key Strengths
Nepal have already demonstrated that they can handle pressure in this tournament. Their victory over Afghanistan provides confidence before facing the hosts.
Sundeep Jora has been among Nepal’s leading run scorers in the competition, while Kushal Bhurtel has made an impact with the ball.
Nepal will therefore look to maintain their aggressive approach with both bat and ball.
Japan’s Qualification Challenge
Japan’s opening defeat has increased the importance of this contest. The hosts need a strong result against Nepal to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Because Group A contains Japan, Nepal, and Afghanistan, every result can significantly affect the final standings. The top teams will advance toward the knockout stage, making net run rate potentially important as well.
Japan vs Nepal Pitch and Venue
Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin is hosting the men’s Asian Games cricket matches. The tournament is being staged in Aichi Prefecture, with the cricket competition forming part of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games program.

What to Expect From the Match
The contest could depend on how effectively each team handles the powerplay. Nepal’s confidence should make them dangerous, while Japan have home conditions and familiarity with the venue.
